The Senior Culinary Chef apprenticeship, told the way you'll live it: month by month, week by week. Every dot on the line ahead is a week of your two-year journey. Click any one and it opens.
Ninety-six weeks of connected learning arrive at one place: gateway, then end-point assessment. By then you have rehearsed every part of it: more than once.
You research, design and launch a new product line or menu, then present it and cook from it for an independent assessor before answering their questions. It draws on food preparation, business specifications, technology, food safety, customer research, supply chain and risk. Months 5–9 and 14–18 build this directly, and Month 18 develops and rehearses the project itself.
A structured, two-way conversation with an independent assessor, drawing on the portfolio you build across the programme. It covers teamwork, leadership, communication, financial understanding, legal compliance, problem-solving and organisational culture. Months 19–24 build and rehearse this directly.
Every part of this apprenticeship earns its place because it matters at work and it matters to where your career can go. Here is how the main areas of your learning connect to the job you do today and the roles you could grow into.
