The gateway opens. You walk through it ready.

Seventy-two weeks of connected learning arrive at one place: gateway, then end-point assessment. By then you have rehearsed every part of it: more than once.

i

Observation of leadership · 90 minutes · a 60-minute observation, then 30 minutes of questions · at least 4 set questions

An independent assessor observes you leading in your real workplace for around an hour, leading your team, making decisions, and modelling the culture, then asks about what they saw. You rehearse being observed from Milestone 1, and again directly at Milestones 4 and 18.

ii

Professional discussion · 90 minutes · underpinned by your portfolio of evidence

A structured, two-way conversation with the independent assessor, drawing on your portfolio. It ranges across the whole standard: leadership, safeguarding, quality, compliance and your own development. Milestones 17 and 18 rehearse it directly, and a distinction here is what lifts your overall grade.
